The annual inflation rate in Kyrgyzstan rose to 9.7% in February 2026 from 9.5% in January, reaching its highest level since July 2023. The increase was largely driven by higher prices for clothing and footwear (5.1% vs 3.9% in January), household goods (7.3% vs 6.2%), and recreation and cultural activities (12.2% vs 10%). Prices also climbed for restaurants and hotels (15.9% vs 6.7%) and for miscellaneous goods and services (18% vs 16.1%).
By contrast, inflation eased in several categories, including food and non-alcoholic beverages (8.8% vs 9.9%), housing and utilities (14.1% vs 14.9%), and education (22.4% vs 23%). On a monthly basis, consumer prices rose 1.2% in February, quickening from a 0.8% increase in the previous month.
