FX.co ★ Norway Jobless Rate Climbs to 6-Month High

Norway’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate rose to 4.9% in February 2026, up from 4.6% in January, reaching its highest level since August 2025. The number of unemployed increased by 9,000 over the month to 150,000. At the same time, the employment rate climbed to 70.0% from 69.1%, as the number of employed persons expanded by 38,000 to 2.929 million. The labor force participation rate also advanced, rising to 73.6% from 72.5% in January. Meanwhile, the youth unemployment rate, covering job seekers aged 15 to 24, inched up to 14.6% from 14.2% in the previous month.
