US stock futures were little changed on Wednesday, following a robust rally that pushed the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite to within close range of their pre-war levels, effectively erasing losses tied to the Iran conflict. In Tuesday’s regular session, the S&P 500 gained 1.18% and the Nasdaq Composite climbed 1.96%, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average added 0.66%.
Sentiment improved as optimism grew that the US and Iran may soon resume negotiations, raising hopes for an agreement to end the conflict and reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Washington and Tehran are reportedly seeking to hold a second round of talks before the current two-week ceasefire expires, after discussions broke down last weekend.
Looking ahead, investors will turn their attention to earnings from major US banks, including Bank of America, Morgan Stanley, and PNC Financial, as well as results from Dutch chipmaker ASML.
