The seasonally adjusted unemployment rate stood at 6.3% in March 2026, unchanged for the third consecutive month and marking the highest level since February 2021. The number of unemployed persons increased slightly, rising by 188 from the previous month to 20,381.
Total employment expanded by 363 to reach 300,694, while the active labor force among Luxembourg nationals grew by 552, totaling 321,075.
Regarding cross-border employment, the number of resident workers commuting out of the country edged down by 1 to 14,045. In contrast, the number of incoming cross-border workers rose sharply by 820, reaching 234,632.
A year earlier, in March 2025, the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was lower, at 5.9%.
