Slovakia’s economy grew by 0.9% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2026, in line with market expectations and slightly below the previous quarter’s one-year high of 1.0%, according to preliminary estimates. Softer investment activity dampened overall growth, but strong household final consumption expenditure and a positive foreign trade balance continued to support economic performance. On a seasonally adjusted quarter-on-quarter basis, GDP increased by 0.2% in Q1 2026, matching the pace seen in the preceding quarter.
