Canada’s manufacturing sector saw a modest cooling in March 2026, with sales growth slowing but remaining firmly in positive territory on a month-over-month basis.
According to the latest data updated on 15 May 2026, manufacturing sales rose 3.0% in March compared with February. This marks a slight deceleration from February 2026, when sales had climbed 3.6% over the previous month. The figures are reported on a month-over-month comparison basis, where the “actual” March change is measured against February, and the “previous” reading reflects February’s change versus January.
While the pace of growth has eased, the back-to-back gains in February and March point to continued momentum in Canada’s manufacturing sector, suggesting that demand remained resilient at the end of the first quarter of 2026.
