India’s BSE Sensex ended Tuesday’s turbulent session about 0.5% higher at 74,650, snapping a four-day losing streak as investors moved back into oversold large-cap and technology counters. Sentiment also brightened after US President Trump said talks with Iran were still ongoing, easing concerns over a breakdown in diplomacy and helping to pull oil prices lower.
Technology shares led the advance, supported by persistent optimism over global investment in artificial intelligence and robust expectations for software demand. Tata Consultancy Services was the standout performer, jumping 6.5%, followed by Infosys with a 5.7% gain, HCL Technologies up 4.1%, and Tech Mahindra 1.8% higher. Among other heavyweights, Adani Ports and Titan also posted solid gains of 1.8% and 1.3%, respectively.
On the downside, NTPC slid 2.9%, tracking losses in NHPC after the government announced an offer for sale of shares at an 8% discount. Axis Bank and Power Grid also weakened, falling 1.7% and 1.4%, respectively.
