FX.co ★ Slovakia Current Account Deficit at 3-Month High

Slovakia’s current account deficit narrowed to EUR 436.8 million in April 2026, down from EUR 690.8 million in April 2025. Despite this improvement, it was still the largest deficit recorded since January. The goods deficit decreased to EUR 139.5 million from EUR 262.1 million a year earlier, and the services surplus widened to EUR 45.6 million from EUR 40.1 million. In addition, the primary income deficit contracted to EUR 306.4 million from EUR 337.3 million, while the secondary income deficit declined sharply to EUR 36.5 million from EUR 131.5 million. Over the January–April period, the total current account deficit reached EUR 1,661 million.
