The DAX 40 edged up 0.3% to around 24,740 on Monday, recovering some of the previous week’s losses, supported primarily by chipmakers, while geopolitical risks in the Middle East continued to weigh on sentiment. After a tense weekend, the US and Iran agreed to halt mutual attacks—actions that had raised fears of renewed hostilities—and to continue discussions on a memorandum of understanding this week.
At the same time, investors are focusing on the ECB’s Sintra Forum, where top central bankers, including Federal Reserve Chair Kevin Warsh and ECB President Christine Lagarde, are expected to discuss the global economic outlook and the future course of monetary policy.
Among individual stocks, Infineon Technologies led gainers with an advance of more than 3%, while Rheinmetall rose 1.6% and Hensoldt added 1.9%.
