US equity futures rose on Monday, rebounding from last week’s sharp volatility as investors reassessed the speculative AI trade against an improving macroeconomic backdrop. Nasdaq 100 futures gained 1%, S&P 500 contracts advanced 0.6%, and Dow futures climbed 150 points, putting the index back in range of its record above 52,000.
Oil and fuel prices broadly extended the pullback that helped drive last week’s sharp decline in Treasury yields, easing financing conditions for US corporates. At the same time, investors rotated back into AI-related long positions, both in hyperscale computing and chip manufacturers. Nvidia, Microsoft, AMD, and Intel were all up more than 1.5% in premarket trading.
AI-linked stocks remained volatile last week as robust guidance from semiconductor producers collided with increasingly stretched valuations and opportunistic capital-raising, highlighted by new debt issuance from SpaceX. Separately, Comcast jumped more than 20% after announcing plans to spin off NBCUniversal into a new, standalone media company.
