Kazakhstan’s annual inflation rate edged down to 10.3% in June 2026 from 10.4% in May, reaching its lowest level since March 2025. Food inflation continued to ease, falling to 10.4% — the weakest pace since May 2025 — from 10.7% a month earlier. This moderation was largely driven by slower price increases for meat and poultry (17.6% vs 18.0% in May), sausages and meat products (16.3% vs 16.9%), and oils and fats (10.7% vs 11.6%).
In contrast, non-food inflation held steady at 11.7%. Faster price growth for clothing (10.6% vs 10.2%) and footwear (11.4% vs 11.1%) was offset by a more moderate rise in petrol prices (15.6% vs 16.0%).
Inflation for paid services accelerated to 9.0% from 8.7%, mainly reflecting higher rental costs (13.9% vs 13.3%), even as price growth for housing and utilities slowed (5.1% vs 5.6%).
On a monthly basis, consumer prices increased by 0.8% in June, after a 0.7% gain in May.
