France’s official reserve assets declined to €355.39 billion at the end of June 2026, down from €381.30 billion in May, reaching their lowest level since October 2025. The decrease was driven mainly by a sharp fall in gold reserves, which dropped by €27.81 billion over the month to €277.03 billion.
In contrast, other components of the reserves posted gains. Claims on the IMF rose to €39.46 billion from €38.85 billion in May, foreign currency reserves increased to €32.42 billion from €31.15 billion, and other reserve assets inched up to €6.48 billion from €6.46 billion.
For comparison, total reserve assets amounted to €294.72 billion in June 2025.
