Spain’s annual inflation rate remained at 3.2% in June 2026, unchanged from both May and April. A rebound in energy costs drove the headline figure, with electricity prices rising 6.0% year-on-year (after a 5.5% decline in May) and gas prices increasing 0.8% (after a 9.7% drop previously). These gains were partly offset by a deceleration in motor fuel inflation: diesel price growth eased to 14.1% from 23.9%, while petrol inflation slowed to 1.3% from 7.5%.
Core inflation edged down to 2.9% from an upwardly revised 3.0% in May, in line with earlier estimates. The EU-harmonized inflation rate held at 3.6% year-on-year, unchanged from May and also matching preliminary figures.
On a monthly basis, consumer prices increased 0.6% in June, accelerating from a 0.1% rise in May. The harmonized index likewise advanced 0.6% month-on-month, following a 0.1% increase in the previous month, with both measures in line with earlier estimates.
