FX.co ★ Baltic Dry Index Edges Down on Tuesday

The Baltic Dry Index edged down 1 point to 2,670 on Tuesday, extending losses after a 2.9% decline on Monday. The Panamax index, which tracks vessels that typically carry 60,000 to 70,000 tons of coal or grain, fell 2.1% to 2,181. The Supramax index also slipped, losing 0.5% to 1,730, its first decline since early July. In contrast, the Capesize index, reflecting rates for ships that usually transport cargoes of about 150,000 tons, rose 1.1% to 3,930, marking its first increase since July 14.
