Denmark’s consumer confidence index edged down to -14.7 in July 2026 from a three-month high of -14.0 in June, though it remained above the six-month average of -15.7. The modest decline was driven by weaker assessments of current economic conditions (-23.8 vs -21.8) and a reduced willingness to make major purchases (-16.9 vs -13.9), even as expectations for household finances over the next year improved (-3.5 vs -5.3). Consumers also rated their financial situation over the past 12 months slightly less favorably (-10.5 vs -10.1), while expectations for Denmark’s overall economy in the year ahead deteriorated further (-19.1 vs -18.7). At the same time, perceptions of current price growth eased (30.4 vs 37.2), and inflation expectations for the next 12 months also moderated (25.0 vs 29.9). Although concerns about unemployment declined (15.0 vs 17.8), households still anticipated a rise in joblessness over the coming year.
