Turkey’s consumer confidence index rose to 89.8 in July 2026 from 87.9 in June, according to the latest Consumer Tendency Survey conducted jointly by the Turkish Statistical Institute and the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye. This marked the highest level since May 2023, supported by a more favorable assessment of households’ current financial situation, which increased to 74.5 from 72.3, and stronger expectations for the general economic outlook, with that sub-index rising to 88.3 from 83.9.
Households’ expectations for their financial situation over the next 12 months also improved, with the relevant index climbing to 91.4 from 89.5. In contrast, willingness to spend on durable goods edged down slightly, slipping to 105.1 from 105.9.
Despite the month-on-month gains, the headline index remained well below the neutral 100 threshold, indicating that consumers are still broadly pessimistic about overall economic conditions.
