Poland’s registered unemployment rate edged down to 5.8% in June 2026, in line with market expectations and marking its lowest level since December 2025. The rate dipped from 5.9% in May, as the number of unemployed fell by 14.4 thousand to 901.5 thousand, with women accounting for 49.1% of the total.
Most jobseekers were not eligible for unemployment benefits, representing 87% of all unemployed persons. Company-related terminations were the reason for unemployment in 4.5% of cases, while recent graduates made up 1.6% of the total. In addition, 367.9 thousand individuals had been out of work for more than a year.
On a yearly basis, the unemployment rate was 0.7 percentage points higher than in June 2025, when it stood at 5.1%. At the same time, reported job vacancies at the end of June 2026 rose by 2.6 thousand to 43.1 thousand.
