Industrial production in Taiwan surged 22.95% year-on-year in June 2026, accelerating from an upwardly revised 11.85% in May and posting the strongest annual growth since March. Manufacturing output nearly doubled, rising 24.34% compared with 12.69% in the previous month, driven by solid gains in the production of electronic parts and components (30.37% vs 12.74%) and computers, electronic and optical products (45.05% vs 35.69%).
Overall industrial activity also benefited from a milder decline in mining and quarrying (-8.54% vs -8.86%) and a faster expansion in electricity and gas supply (1.91% vs 0.08%). In contrast, growth in water supply slowed markedly (1.42% vs 3.41%). On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, industrial production rose 2.68%, up from 1.6% in May and registering the strongest month-on-month increase since February.
