FX.co ★ Spain Retail Sales Growth Slows to 2-Year Low

Retail sales in Spain rose by 0.5% year-on-year in June 2026, the weakest increase since June 2024 and down from a 1.3% advance in May. Growth in sales of non-food products slowed to 2.8% from 3.8% in the previous month, driven by softer increases in personal equipment (1.5% vs 3.4%) and household equipment (2.9% vs 6.2%). Food spending also lost momentum, with growth easing to 0.3% from 1.9%. By contrast, sales of healthcare products picked up slightly, with growth accelerating to 2.8% from 2.5%. On a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis, retail trade rose 0.3% in June, following a 0.6% gain in May.
