FX.co ★ Greece Jobless Rate Rises to 8.0%

Greece’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate rose to 8.0% in June 2026, up from a downwardly revised 7.8% in May. The number of unemployed increased by 12.4 thousand from the previous month, reaching 381.8 thousand, although this figure was 58.3 thousand lower than in June of the previous year. Unemployment remained markedly higher among women than men, at 10.4% and 6.0% respectively. At the same time, the number of people outside the labour force—those under 75 who are neither employed nor actively seeking work—declined by 33.0 thousand compared with the previous month and by 37.0 thousand year-on-year. Total employment rose by 16.4 thousand over the month, bringing the number of employed persons to 4,389.2 thousand.
