Retail sales in Sweden increased by 6.6% year-on-year in June 2026, easing from an upwardly revised 8.1% gain in May. The slowdown was mainly attributable to weaker growth in durable goods sales (8.0% vs 10.5% in May) and a slight deceleration in sales of consumables excluding Systembolaget (5.3% vs 5.5%).
By contrast, petrol station sales accelerated markedly (15.5% vs 4.7%), and non-specialised stores also posted stronger growth (13.4% vs 7.8%).
On a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis, retail sales rose 1.0% in June 2026, rebounding from a revised 0.1% decline in May. Over the latest three-month period (April–June), calendar- and seasonally adjusted retail sales volumes were 2.3% higher than in the preceding three-month period (January–March).
