European equities were poised to open higher on Friday, extending the previous session’s gains as risk appetite improved amid a global rally in technology stocks and renewed optimism about the artificial intelligence sector. Semiconductor shares in the US and across Asia led the move higher, while strong results from Microsoft and Amazon bolstered confidence in sustained hyperscaler investment and robust AI-driven demand.
In Europe, investors will turn their attention to July inflation releases from the Eurozone, France, and Italy, as well as the latest unemployment data from Germany. On the corporate side, earnings are due from Linde, Enel, AXA, ENGIE, NatWest, and several other major companies. In premarket trading, futures on both the Euro Stoxx 50 and the Stoxx 600 were up roughly 0.8%.
