Both figures are measured against the same month a year earlier, with June’s number comparing June 2026 to June 2025, and July’s figure comparing July 2026 to July 2025.
The easing suggests inflationary momentum may be stabilizing after the June peak, a development that could offer policymakers slightly more room as they balance price stability with growth objectives in the second half of 2026.
