Indonesia’s annual inflation slowed to 2.88% in July 2026, down from 3.34% in June and below market expectations of 3.2%, marking the lowest rate since April. The figure remained comfortably within Bank Indonesia’s target range of 1.5% to 3.5%. Core inflation—which excludes volatile food items and government-administered prices—was unchanged at 2.76% in July, the same as in June. On a monthly basis, consumer prices fell 0.14%, reversing a 0.44% increase in June and surprising economists who had anticipated a 0.1% rise. This was the first month-on-month decline in consumer prices since January.
