The Ibovespa hovered around the 177,000 mark on Monday, as renewed optimism over a possible Middle East peace agreement pressured energy commodity prices. Oil retreated after US President Donald Trump called off a planned military strike on Iran and signaled new negotiations with Tehran, pushing Petrobras shares down more than 2%. Vale also slipped nearly 1% amid falling iron ore prices.
In contrast, financial stocks outperformed on the back of easing inflation concerns, with Itaú and Bradesco advancing about 0.5%. BB Seguridade also gained 0.5% ahead of its earnings release. The BCB Focus Survey revised its 2026 inflation forecast down to 5.03% from 5.12% and cut its year-end Selic rate estimate to 13.75% from 14.00%, bolstering expectations for a less restrictive monetary policy stance.
Elsewhere, Embraer rose more than 2.5% after BNDES approved between R$3.3 billion and R$3.7 billion in financing to support exports of up to 19 aircraft to Canada’s Porter Aviation Holdings.
