Total orders received by Sweden rose 29.9% year-on-year in June 2026, the strongest increase since December 2022 and a sharp acceleration from an upwardly revised 1.6% gain in May. Foreign demand was the main driver, with orders from abroad surging 57.6% (vs. 3.3% in May), more than offsetting a 7.4% decline in domestic orders (vs. -0.9%).
By industrial grouping, capital goods orders recorded the most robust growth, jumping 50.7% after a 3.6% decline in the previous month. Intermediate goods orders also rose strongly, up 30.6% following a 3.1% drop in May. In contrast, growth in non-durable consumer goods slowed markedly to 1.0% (vs. 12.6%), while orders for durable consumer goods fell 4.3% (vs. -4.0%). Energy-related goods excluding durable goods remained in contraction, down 3.5%, though this was a smaller decline than the 7.9% fall in May.
On a monthly basis, total orders surged 32.3% in June, rebounding sharply from a 3.2% decrease in May. Over the January–June period, total orders were 4% higher than in the same period a year earlier, with domestic demand broadly unchanged and growth driven primarily by the export market.
