Visitor arrivals to New Zealand rose 8.1% year-on-year to 201,855 in June 2026, up from a 6.7% increase in May, largely driven by growth in arrivals from Australia. This was the strongest annual gain in three months. However, the total number of visitors was down compared with May, highlighting the dampening effect of higher oil prices linked to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
