Slovenia’s unemployment rate eased to 4.3% in June 2026 from 4.4% in May, matching the rate recorded in June 2025, which remains the lowest on record. The number of unemployed decreased by 1.9% month-on-month to 42,245, with declines recorded among both men (-2.1%) and women (-1.7%). Unemployment fell across all age groups; however, individuals over 55 still represent the largest share of the unemployed, while those aged 30–39 and 40–49 also account for a significant portion. At the same time, the share of unemployed persons with tertiary education edged up to 18.5% from 18%. First-time jobseekers made up 17.4% of the total, down from 17.7%, while the proportion of long-term unemployed (jobless for more than a year) increased to 38.7%. Job vacancies rose to 15,000, the highest level since July 2025.
