Zambia’s Consumer Price Index (CPI) inflation eased to 6.2% year-over-year in August 2026, down from 6.5% in July, according to data updated on 27 August 2026. The reading, measured on an annual basis, compares the change in prices in August 2026 with the same month a year earlier, and confirms a continued moderation in price pressures.
The previous figure, recorded in July 2026, reflected a 6.5% year-over-year increase in consumer prices versus July of the prior year. August’s 6.2% print therefore marks a further cooling in inflation, suggesting that price growth is slowing when measured against the same month in the previous year.
