FX.co ★ Eurozone Credit Growth Hits Three-Year High

Bank lending to Eurozone households increased by 3.1% year-on-year to €7.24 trillion in July 2026, up from 3.0% in April and above market expectations of 2.9%. Household credit demand expanded at its fastest pace since February 2023. Corporate lending also strengthened, rising by 4.4% in July, the quickest rate in three years. As a result, overall private-sector credit growth—covering households and non-financial corporations—accelerated to 4.1% from 3.8% in June, reaching its highest level since February 2023.
