Turkey's Economic Confidence Index rose to 100.6 in August 2026 from 99.8 in July, surpassing the 100 threshold for the first time since February. Remaining above 100 signals a slightly optimistic outlook for the overall economy. The improvement was primarily driven by stronger consumer sentiment, with the consumer confidence index increasing 1.0% month-on-month to 90.8, and manufacturing confidence climbing 1.2% to 102.4, extending its position above the 100 mark. By contrast, confidence in the services sector edged down 0.1% to 111.9, while retail trade confidence slipped 0.8% to 110.1; however, both indicators stayed comfortably above the threshold. Construction confidence remained the main weak spot, falling 0.4% to 83.1 and staying well below the 100 level.
