Producer prices in Hungary increased by 1.0% year-on-year in July 2026, the strongest rise since March and a clear reversal from the 0.4% decline recorded in June. Prices for domestic output accelerated to 2.5% from 1.8% in the previous month, while prices for non-domestic output returned to growth, rising 0.3% after a 1.4% drop in June.
By sector, prices in mining and quarrying (-2.6% vs -3.1%) and manufacturing (-0.8% vs -2.2%) continued to decline but at a notably slower pace. In contrast, price growth strengthened in electricity, gas, steam and air-conditioning supply (9.7% vs 8.8%) and in water collection, treatment and supply (3.5% vs 2.5%).
On a monthly basis, producer prices rose by 1.4% in July, following a modest 0.1% increase in June.
