North Macedonia’s retail sales rose by 5.6% year-on-year in July 2026, reversing a 1.0% decline in June. The upturn was driven by stronger activity in several key segments: sales of non-food products excluding fuel accelerated to 6.7% from 1.4%, while automotive fuel sales surged 13.2% after a 2.5% increase in the previous month. In contrast, trade in food, beverages, and tobacco was unchanged, following a 4.2% drop in June. Overall, retail trade excluding automotive fuel recorded a sharp rebound, growing by 3.6% after a 1.1% contraction.
