Chile’s manufacturing sector extended its downturn in July 2026, with output falling 4.9% year-over-year, according to data updated on 31 August 2026. The decline marks a sharper contraction than in June 2026, when manufacturing production dropped 3.0% compared with the same month a year earlier.
The latest figures indicate a worsening trend for Chilean industry on an annual basis, as the year-over-year comparison shows that July’s output decreased more steeply than in the previous month. Both the current and previous readings measure the change in manufacturing activity against the same month of the prior year, underscoring persistent weakness in the sector through mid-2026.
