The annual inflation rate in Turkey edged up to 27.95% in August 2026 from 27.83% in July. Cost pressures intensified in manufacturing (29.68% vs 28.96% in July) and water supply (29.59% vs 28.85%). In contrast, price growth slowed in mining and quarrying (38.88% vs 41.81%) and in electricity, gas, production and distribution (7.57% vs 11.69%).
By main industrial groupings, inflation picked up for intermediate goods (27.41% vs 26.79%), durable consumer goods (28.54% vs 26.57%), energy (27.33% vs 26.62%), and capital goods (22.06% vs 21.28%). Meanwhile, price growth eased in non-durable consumer goods (30.28% vs 32.46%). On a monthly basis, producer prices increased by 2.57% in August, up from 1.52% in July, marking the strongest monthly rise in three months.
