South Korea’s export prices rose 42.4% year over year in August 2026, slowing from a 48.9% increase in July. Among major categories, prices for manufactured goods climbed 42.4%, driven by a 113.2% surge in computers, electronic, and optical equipment. Prices were also higher for coal and petroleum products (65.9%), basic metal products (20.2%), and chemical products (14.0%).
Prices for agricultural, forestry, and marine products increased 28.4% over the same period. On a monthly basis, however, the Export Price Index fell 3.7%.
The Export Volume Index grew 25.9% year over year, while the Export Value Index jumped 75.8%. The Net Barter Terms of Trade Index also improved, rising 27.1%.
