Kazakhstan’s economy grew by 4.9% year-on-year in the January–August 2026 period, unchanged from the pace recorded in the first seven months of the year. Growth slowed slightly in industry (2.8% vs. 3% in January–July), manufacturing (8.4% vs. 9%), and transportation and storage (7.3% vs. 7.4%), while output in mining and quarrying declined further (-4.3% vs. -4.4%). By contrast, activity accelerated in agriculture (5.2% vs. 5%), construction (15.6% vs. 15.3%), and trade (6% vs. 5.9%).
