FX.co ★ Ecuador Trade Balance Swings to Surplus

Ecuador posted a trade surplus of $504.4 million in July 2026, compared with a deficit of $257.0 million in July 2025. Exports rose 48.5% year-on-year to $3.72 billion. Non-oil exports amounted to $2.91 billion, an increase of 25.0%, while shrimp exports climbed 64.4% to $1.0 billion. Exports of mining products reached $545.3 million, up 59.4%. Imports totaled $3.21 billion, a 16.4% increase, with fuels and lubricants showing the fastest growth at 35.4%. Between January and July 2026, Ecuador recorded a cumulative trade surplus of $2.84 billion.
