Mexico’s economic activity posted a notable recovery in July 2026, reversing the decline seen a month earlier, according to the latest data updated on 24 September 2026. The month-over-month indicator rose to 0.80% in July, up from a contraction of -0.10% recorded in June 2026.
The figures highlight a clear month-to-month improvement: while June’s reading showed a slight pullback compared with May, July marked a return to growth. On a comparison basis, the “actual” figure reflects the change in activity from June to July, whereas the “previous” reading captured the change from May to June.
The shift from negative to positive territory suggests that economic momentum strengthened as Mexico moved into the second half of 2026, with July’s performance offsetting the modest weakness seen in the prior month.
