Armenia’s economic activity slowed to 6.5% year-on-year in August 2026, down from a downwardly revised 7.5% in July and marking the weakest pace since March 2025. The deceleration was primarily driven by a decline in industrial output, which contracted by 4.3% year-on-year following a 3.1% increase in the previous month.
Construction growth also moderated, with output expanding by 23.8% compared with 26.5% in July. Trade turnover edged up 0.1% after a 0.1% decline in the prior month, while services growth eased to 11.4% from 17.0%.
On a monthly basis, economic activity rose 4.5% in August, following a 4.6% increase in July. Over the January–August period, overall economic activity was 7.3% higher than in the same period a year earlier.
