Portugal’s consumer price inflation quickened in September 2026, with the year-over-year Consumer Price Index (CPI) rising to 3.6%, up from 3.3% in August 2026.
According to the latest data, updated on 30 September 2026, the September reading reflects price changes compared with the same month a year earlier. The previous figure for August was also calculated on a year-over-year basis, comparing August 2026 to August 2025.
The step-up from 3.3% to 3.6% suggests inflationary pressures in Portugal picked up as the third quarter drew to a close, potentially reinforcing expectations that consumer prices remain on an upward trajectory compared with last year’s levels.
