FX.co ★ Colombian Exports Post Sharpest Growth Since May

Colombia’s exports increased by 15.1% year-on-year to USD 4.46 billion in August 2026, accelerating from a 5.9% rise in July and marking the fastest growth since May. This performance was largely driven by a 127% jump in exports from the “other sectors” group, reflecting higher sales of non-monetary gold. Exports of fuels and extractive industry products grew 23.8%, supported by strong gains in coal, coke and briquette exports (99.4%) and in petroleum, petroleum products and related items (12.3%). Manufacturing exports advanced 5.6%, led by chemicals and related products (18.7%) and by miscellaneous manufactured articles (1.9%). By contrast, exports of agricultural, food and beverage products declined 16%, mainly due to lower shipments of unroasted coffee (-23.5%) and of coffee extracts, essences and concentrates (-51.4%).
