Industrial output in Jordan rose by 3.3% year-on-year in August 2026, up from a 1.2% increase in July and reaching its highest level since February 2025. Manufacturing production—the largest component of the index, representing 88.7% of total industrial activity—expanded by 3.7% year-on-year, an 18‑month high, compared with 2.0% in the previous month.
At the same time, growth in electricity, gas, steam, and air-conditioning supply picked up to 3.5%, after recording no change in July, while the contraction in mining and quarrying output eased to 3.0% from 9.7%. On a monthly basis, industrial production increased by 3.2% in August, slowing from a 4.6% gain in July. Over the January–August 2026 period, industrial output was up 0.6% compared with the same period a year earlier.
