The figures show that short-term liquid balances in the economy — including cash in circulation and demand deposits — expanded at a faster pace than in the previous month when measured against the same period a year earlier. The “actual” September reading compares the change in September 2026 to September 2025, while the “previous” August reading reflected the change in August 2026 versus August 2025.
The acceleration in M1 growth suggests a strengthening in readily available liquidity in the Israeli financial system heading into the final quarter of 2026, potentially reflecting shifts in household and corporate cash holdings as well as banking sector conditions.
