India’s BSE Sensex extended losses on Monday, closing 1.1% lower at 73,853 and snapping a two-session winning streak, as investors digested a fresh batch of corporate earnings against the backdrop of persistently elevated oil prices. Selling was broad-based, led by private-sector lenders: Axis Bank fell 3.9% and HDFC Bank dropped 2.3% following weaker-than-expected quarterly results. IT counters also came under pressure, with Infosys down 2.7% and Tech Mahindra slipping 0.6%. UltraTech Cement declined 2.8% after the company reported quarterly profits below analyst forecasts and simultaneously announced significant leadership changes at the board level.
