Frankfurt’s DAX 40 slipped 0.9% to around 25,100, its lowest level since October 9, deepening the previous session’s losses as technology, industrials, and banking stocks led the decline. Sentiment remained fragile amid rising oil prices and persistent worries over political instability, with protests spreading across several European countries. Additional pressure on AI-linked shares further weighed on the market, as investors increasingly questioned the sector’s elevated valuations.
Among the weakest performers were Siemens, Infineon Technologies, Hochtief, and Siemens Energy, each losing between 2.5% and 3.7%. Rheinmetall (-1.9%), Brenntag (-1.3%), MTU Aero Engines (-1.2%), and Vonovia (-1.2%) also came under pressure, while Deutsche Bank declined 1.1%.
On the upside, SAP led the gainers with a 1.4% advance, followed by Fresenius Medical Care, up 1.2%, and Adidas, which added 0.9%.
