Indonesia’s broad money supply (M2) increased by 8.3% year-on-year to a record IDR 10,587.9 trillion in September 2026, slightly up from 8.2% in August. The expansion was primarily supported by growth in narrow money (M1), which rose 9%, while quasi-money growth also quickened to 7.3%.
By component, net claims on the central government (Pempus) rebounded sharply, climbing 24.4% after a 7% decline in August. Net foreign assets also returned to positive territory, growing 1% following a 6.6% contraction previously. In contrast, credit growth moderated to 12.7% in September, down from 13.3% in the prior month.
