Producer prices for manufacturing in the Philippines rose by 3.4% year-on-year in September 2026, quickening from an upwardly revised 3.2% in August. This was the fastest annual increase since May, largely driven by higher prices for coke and refined petroleum products (6.5% vs 3.8% in August), which accounted for 77.4% of the overall gain. Other key contributors were the manufacture of transport equipment (3% vs 2.7%) and of computer, electronic and optical products (5.7% vs 5.6%).
In contrast, price growth slowed for the manufacture of basic metals (4.7% vs 5.5%), tobacco products (6% vs 6.7%), and for other manufacturing and the repair and installation of machinery and equipment (2.6% vs 3.5%).
On a monthly basis, the producer price index (PPI) inched up 0.3% in September, following a revised 0.2% rise in August. Over the first nine months of the year, producer prices were up 2.8% compared with the same period a year earlier.
