Tuvalu
Tuvalu is a tiny island nation in the southwest of the Pacific Ocean. It consists of four islands and five atolls no higher than 5 m above the sea and 21 km long. Tuvalu is quite vulnerable to climate change and risks to submerge in the nearest future. That’s why its motto invites everyone to visit the country today as tomorrow it may be too late.
Like in all Polynesian countries, Tuvalu’s climate is warm and humid. However, an annual tourist flow is around a thousand people. You can get to the only inhabited island Funafuti is by flying from Fiji airport. The reward will be beautiful beaches, amazing tropical vegetation, clear water and marine biodiversity.
Montserrat
Those who enjoy exploring abandoned cities will appreciate this overseas territory of the UK. Montserrat is located on the island of the same name, which is part of the Lesser Antilles. The only way to reach Montserrat is by plane or by ferry from the islands of Antigua.
The Soufrière Hills volcano eruption in 1995 divided the life on the island into before and after. The majority of inhabitants had left the island over 20 years ago with few returned. Currently Montserrat has only two hotels. The majority of the beaches is covered with black volcanic ash.
Kiribati
The Republic of Kiribati is located on the territory of more than thirty coral atolls and volcanic islands in the western part of the Pacific Ocean. The annual tourists flow is no more than 3 thousand people.
To get to this heaven on earth, you need to make several transfers from the continent. However, surfing, beach vacations and diving in Kiribati are worth it. A number of islands are declared marine parks, but the wildlife of Kiribati is extremely poor.
What thrills the most is the fact that the sun rises and the countdown of the day begins in the east of Kiribati.
Comoro Islands
The Comoro Islands are located in the Indian Ocean not far from the north of the Mozambique Channel entrance.Volcano eruptions are still happening there. It is one of the poorest African countries. However, the chain of hotels is well developed. People get here through Paris or Dubai, tours are organized in summer.
Tourists visit the Comoro Islands to see lifeless lava fields and basalt blocks from the eruptions of the Kartala volcano replaced by tropical forests inhabited by exotic animals.
São Tomé and Príncipe
You can get to this island African state located near the equator by plane from Lisbon. Here, in the Gulf of Guinea, tetanus, malaria, and fever happened. However, if the necessary safety measures are taken these places can be quite suitable for a comfortable stay. At the same time there are not so many hotels on the islands.
Apart from the picturesque tropical forests teeming with exotic animals the original Aboriginal culture and colonial-style architecture attract travelers.
