Russian President Vladimir Putin, US President Barack Obama and famous actors like Leonardo DiCaprio are among Time Magazine's 100 most influential people.

Time's Leaders category starts with International Monetary Fund managing director Christine Lagarde.

The second place was given to US Secretary of State John Kerry.

Interestingly, Vladimir Putin came in at #29. It's not the first time Russia's president has been named by Time as one of the most influential people, but until recently he was the only Russian on the list. This year, the Russian entrepreneur and investor Yuri Milner was also included.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel occupied 3rd place in the ranking.

Meanwhile, US President Barack Obama received 13th place in 2016.

United States Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump took the 4th place. Many people in the US support the businessman and politician.

Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank President Jin Liqun at the 5th place is not very famous. Still, the magazine's editors considered him one of the world's most powerful people.

South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley came in at #6. Wide public is also most likely unaware of who she is.

The 7th spot was given to Bernie Sanders, a Democratic candidate for President of the United States. His main rival is Hillary Clinton who is running well ahead, according to the presidential primaries' results. However, Clinton has less clout, according to Time.

General Sean Barry MacFarland occupied the 8th place in the Leaders sublist. He is known to a limited group of people, but he is considered to be an extremely powerful man because of his official position.

Tsai Ing-wen, a Taiwanese politician and the president-elect of the Republic of China was 9th in the ranking.

Reince Priebus, the chairman of the Republican National Committee (RNC) rounded out the top ten of the most influential people in the world.
